CBC New Media Group is looking for a media savvy individual with strong data analysis skills to join our team. Your job will be to report and analyze digital audience analytics for a variety of internal and external stakeholders. You will be expected to offer insights on audience behavior that help inform business decisions for content, sales, marketing and product teams.
As our data specialist, you will be tasked with a number of key initiatives, including developing KPIs and business-insight dashboards, and working with our data management platform to build audience segments to serve the needs of clients and to help us deliver better experiences for users of our digital platforms.
Assume ownership and primary responsibility for analytics and audience platforms, including Google Analytics 360, Data Studio and BlueConic.
Create, schedule and monitor daily, weekly, monthly and ad hoc reporting.
Regularly analyze site and app trends and recommend sales and content opportunities.
Establish and maintain KPIs and dashboards that offer actionable insights to sales, marketing, content and management teams
Generate regular data updates for sales materials and media kit.
Leverage first- and third-party data sets — both onsite and offsite — to increase sales opportunities and improve current campaign performance.
Support sales team and consult AEs on how to leverage data to optimize their campaigns.
Regular present data trends to content and sales teams.
Identify and harvest new audience segments to capitalize on market demand.
Stay up on industry best practices for data management, analytics reporting, data visualization and campaign optimization.
1-3 years’ experience in digital advertising, marketing or media, or as a data analyst. Preference given to candidates with experience at a media company, ad technology platform or agency.
Bachelor’s degree in communication, marketing or related field required; master’s degree preferred
Experience with analytics platforms. Preference given to candidates with Google Analytics certification.
Knowledge of data management and customer data platforms (CMP and DMP) and third-party data sources and platforms.
Proven success using analytical skills to produce actionable business insights.
Advanced Excel skills, including use of pivot tables.
