The Journalism Program, Department of Communication at the University of Massachusetts Amherst seeks a lecturer to develop and teach a series of courses in broadcast/multimedia journalism to be offered in a new state-of-the art broadcast newsroom. The lecturer will teach six courses per year, most in the broadcast curriculum, will help students produce content for distribution on campus Web and broadcast platforms, and will contribute related academic service. We seek a colleague with broad professional and teaching abilities who can help students develop basic and advanced cross-platform skills and a contextual and critical approach to the field. The program is especially interested in candidates with a demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion in a multicultural educational environment.

Applicants must have a Master’s degree in Journalism or a closely related field and significant professional experience. The position begins September 1, 2013, and salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
