About the Job
Casper Star Tribune Communications is looking for a versatile, motivated controller to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in a full range of accounting and financial functions in addition to managing a small accounting staff. Responsibilities include oversight of accounting and financial functions of the newspaper's print and online publications, analysis and interpretation of financial information, monthly closing process, general accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and coordination of external and internal audits.
Candidates should demonstrate knowledge of financial institution policies and procedures, strong analytical and communication skills and proficient computer skills (especially electronic spreadsheets). Responsibilities also include evaluation and development of staff, evaluation and development of procedures and internal controls, and maximizing credit activities.
This position is crucial to our organization's success. We need someone with strong leadership skills who is able to serve as a team member with other department managers, actively participating in strategic planning, forecasting, capital, and operating budgeting. Bachelor's Degree in accounting or business administration and/or CPA license and three to five years experience in accounting required. Prior newspaper experience is highly desired but not required.
