Cover Letter

If your organization is looking for a lifelong news junkie with the passion and knowledge to package the news for print and online readers, perhaps you should read on.

I have strong roots in the print media, having attended worked as a copy editor at several publications and news services. I know how competitive the news media are in gaining the attention and loyalty of readers and viewers. I believe a cleaver and attractive way of packaging the news, as well as the basics of accuracy and knowing the interests of the audience, is essential in today’s era of often sloppy, exploitative and downright irresponsible reliance on “alternative facts.”

Smart headlines, the proper use and editing of strong artistic elements and experienced placement of stories in proportion to individual news value are essential to drawing and keeping a loyal following of news consumers.

I would be more than glad to further discuss my experience, qualifications and interest in any openings you might have. Please feel free to contact me anytime for any additional information you might need.
