The Greenlee School of Journalism and Communication at Iowa State University seeks someone who is passionate about the First Amendment. The preferred candidate will have professional experience in the industry and in higher education. The Greenlee School has been a leader on First Amendment issues for the past 15 years and has sponsored several national First Amendment workshops, including programs at national conventions of the College Media Association, the Associated Collegiate Press and the Columbia Scholastic Press Association. The successful candidate will chair the First Amendment Committee and coordinate the annual First Amendment celebrations, including outreach to external audiences and workshops on how to teach the First Amendment and host their own First Amendment celebrations. This individual will also coordinate periodic First Amendment seminars/workshops throughout the academic year and complete a formal evaluation of the school’s First Amendment programming. This position also includes teaching based on the needs of the school and the candidate’s expertise. Adherence to programmatic goals and curriculum objectives is required, as the school is accredited by the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications (ACEJMC).
